The inaugural Western ServiceNow virtual Hackathon was held in July, with 21 students completing in the week long event.
The first three days involved intense application training offered by ServiceNow NextGen trainer based in Singapore! The last two days were spent working on the challenge theme which was ‘Improving the student and staff experience at Western using ServiceNow digital workflows’. Students were asked to use innovative approaches to solve real-world problems encountered by staff and students at Western and build a functioning application from scratch using the ServiceNow platform to solve that problem.
The winning solution addressed the issue of appointment bookings for students with academic staff. This was a common theme during the presentation and provided a solution that would make life much easier for our students and staff. The winning team will now be able to work with the Enterprise Service Management Program Students Experience stream team, along with our partners Deloitte and ServiceNow!
Here are the top two projects.
